Based on reviews I used this daily after my swimming workout.
While the product seems to remove chlorine from my hair, the drying damage from the chlorine demands the use of a conditioner in addition to this shampoo.

I am a lifelong swimmer, 59 now and I swim 3-4 days a week/in the water for over an hour. I have long/just past shoulder-length wavy very fine hair and chlorine used to really dry it out no matter what products I used, including following my shampooing with the best of conditioners. I don't often write product reviews but I've now been using Ultra Swim for 6 months and from day one, my hair has been completely free of chlorine, soft, and chlorine-damage dryness has steadily decreased. Ultra Swim has a pleasant mild scent, moves into and through my hair thoroughly, generates a nice lather, and rinses easily...and best of all immediately & completely removes chlorine without any drying: my hair has body and movement and shine instead of dullness left by most chlorine shampoos (and I think I have tried them all across time). I no longer highlight or color my hair at all (let the white rock!) but the bottle declares Ultra Swim safe for chemically colored/processed hair. It is amazingly gentle: ingredients release chlorine from bonding to hair instead of stripping the hair. I haven't tried Ultra Swim conditioner because I am already committed to L'Occitane's Reparateur for moisture and scent but there have been a couple of workouts where I forgot my conditioner, shampooed with Ultra Swim and was able to easily comb through my hair afterwards without conditioner--this would have been impossible 6 months ago. Last comment, Ultra Swim is also affordable enough that I use it to wash out my bathing suit in the shower as well...saves time but also apparently is more effective in getting the chlorine out of swim fabrics because now my bathing suits have less fading and the elasticity holds almost a month longer (4 months instead of 3 months for a typical athletic swimsuit). BOTTOMLINE: LOVE ULTRA SWIM

I liked the idea of removing chlorine but would not use this every time I swim, which is three times a week, since it is quite drying.

If you're swimming in a high chlorine pool, use Ultra Swim shampoo. It doesn't work as well without the conditioner, but it does an okay job on its own.
