Just returned from Tropical Mexico where we lived for 2 months during the "dry season". The mosquitoes were voracious but I was prepared with two tubes of Ultrathon.
I was shocked when the Ultrathon was totally ineffective to repel the mosquitoes, but the cheapo Off was!
I wasted my money on this product.

Bought this to bring to Africa. Have used it there in the past (2x), & did not bring home malaria or yellow fever, so it must be work! I buy it each time I go for our whole team.

I was very disappointed in this product. I had flies and every other bug there was still all over me. It was completely worthless.

This is the only product that I've found that will keep the deer flies off on a 2 hour trail run in the Jersey pines. I sweat a lot and it still works. It also works good for the tics and chiggers.

We first bought this insect repellent when travelling to a country where some cases of malaria had been reported. No bug bites there, but we didn't see many mosquitoes. When we returned, we tried using it up at our summer cabin in the evening when we gathered with friends around a campfire, and quickly discovered that this stuff kept us bite-free when all our friends - even those using Deep Woods Off - were getting chewed up by mosquitoes. It's great stuff as far as we're concerned - though I wouldn't use it on children, given the very high levels of DEET.

We visited Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. This product did not require me to spray repellent on myself (and everyone else within 5 feet). I used it like cologne. Only on pulse points and behind knees, inside elbows, behind ears etc.Small amount goes a long way. It was very effective and long lasting. I was not bitten once in 10 days! Other folks on the trip using traditional sprays were bitten. AND I was happy knowing I wasn't contaminating other people's breathing space! Nice scent, small enough to fit in day pack easily.

Fairly decent product. A higher deet percentage would work better for me. Mosquitos love me! I apply it to my face because it's better than using the spray on facial areas. If it came in 100% deet I would stock up even more. It does do a fairly good job though and for most it would probably work just fine. I'm just the type that mosquitos will commit suicide to get to.
