I took it a few nights in a row and it honestly did nothing for me. I gave it 3 stars because it did make me a little sleepy, but that's not where my body needs help... I usually always feel tired at night, but it's the actual "falling asleep" that I can't seem to accomplish. So if you're the kind of person who needs help getting tired (ex: you feel wired at night time and lay there with your eyes wide open for hours) then this is definitely for you. But if you're like me and you need help with actually falling asleep, then I'd say try Simply Sleep or the Unisom Gels (or even Benadryl as they all contain the same ingredient) or else try good old melatonin. Simply Sleep has worked pretty well for me. Reviewed by 32 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » 3/7/2012 Great sleep aid Pros

Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: Love it, I've tried melatonin 3 and Simply sleep. Melatonin works fine but I think this is stronger, simply sleep makes me feel sick and anxious, love the natural feeling of this medicine. Also I just needed half the pill, if you take the whole tablet better take it early at night like 7-8, so you don't feel groggy in the morning. Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: PROS: Far more effective than diphenydramine. No problems with dry mouth (which is typical for antihistamines). Does not keep me from waking during night, but does help me return to sleep. Drugstore.com offers it at a good price. Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I have trouble with nightmares and waking during the night and being unable to go back to sleep. I tried what others recommended--taking half a tablet. This kept me asleep, and nightmare free all night but made me groggy the next day. The next time I quartered the tablet. This worked perfectly, no bad dreams or grogginess. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (3 of 3 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses
Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I'm a computer person. I'm on my computer for several hours a day. The computer really stimulates the mind a lot, so much that it hard for me to get rest. I could stop playing on the computer for hours and I'll still be awake. That isn't good for my full-time student self. If I don't get 8 hours of sleep minimum I feel tired. At one time, I was so sleep deprived that I couldn't even work on my paper, for I couldn't concentrate. This is great because I can take it an hour before bed, and in 5 minutes tops no matter how stimulated I am from the computer, I fall asleep. I feel awake and rested and ready for the day ahead. Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I'm over 50 and find that benadryl (diphenhydramine) keeps me awake at night due to an increased urge to urinate. I'm awakened every two hours. Unisom does not have that side effect and it works quickly. I agree that a half-tablet is better than one. Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I am an RN and experience no side effects when I take 1/2 tablet. Each pill is scored (line in the middle for breaking it in half). A whole pill does make me feel sluggish upon rising. Try half a pill and be ready to go to sleep in about 30 minutes. Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I take 1 of these, along with 2-3 MG melatonin tablets, about 10-20 minutes before going to bed and sleep great. For me, they do what they're intended for. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 3 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Best Uses Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I have insomnia and had no luck with prescription sleep meds. I tried Unisom along with melatonin. It made me slightly sleepy but didn't last and I became used to it. So, I started taking more of it and more melatonin and all I ended up with was horrible headaches and wasted money. Now I'm back to trying a prescription. Maybe this would be good for a once in a while sleep issue, but not for someone with serious insomnia. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend (2 of 3 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Best Uses Comments about Unisom SleepTabs, Nighttime Sleep-Aid Tablets, 48 ea: I have chronic, moderate-to-severe pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis, but I haven't looked into taking Rx sleep meds. I tried this first. It worked the first few nights, but I needed two or three pills for it to affect me. I am full-figured and have a strong German tolerance for all things chemical, so that's probably why. But after a couple of nights, it stopped working. Good old Nyquil gelcaps always work, but I don't take that unless I'm getting a cold or am having a bad allergy attack at night. I tried Legatrin instead of this, and that works great. Two of those a couple hours before bedtime and I sleep well. And after months of taking that, I have yet to build up any tolerance to it.
