I use this eye liner with Urban Decay eyeshadow primer portion. It starts smudging after a few hours even though I use it with primer. Maybe my eyelids are too oily... I assume it would be a good eye liner for people with normal skin type.

I actually did my homework before buying this pencil and it ranked as one of the best. I had high hopes! As promised, it was easy to apply. It went on very smoothly and I was able to control the depth of the color.

Unfortunately, when I looked in the mirror about three hours after I put it on, the line on my upper lid had melted away, and the bottom lid looked as if someone had given me a black eye.

I guess I'll be trying Make-Up Forever.

I have very oily skin and because of this I generally don't wear any eye makeup at all except mascara (it took me forever to find one that doesn't run-KissMe tube mascara). I don't like the look of liquid eyeliner and all eye pencils I've ever tried run, give me racoon eyes within an hour or so of application and generally make me look worse and older than I actually am. I bought this product on a whim and was extremely pleasantly surprised. This product held up very, very well...not perfect, but as close as I've come in my 20 years of wearing makeup. It runs a tiny, tiny bit which becomes noticible about 6-8 hours into my day. This is such an impressive improvement over every other eye pencil I've tried that I consider it a total victory. I'm now wearing this eyeliner everyday (v. never except on special nights out, maybe 2x per year) and I'll absolutely buy it again and in different colors.

As a male up artist I'm always on the hunt for the perfect black eye liner that is soft enough to use on the inner lid. This one is it, or at least one of my favorites. It's soft enough to be blended out with a brush or smudged for a smokey effect. I also love using this as a base on the eye for other eye shadow colors. The result is spectacular when using metallic eye shadow and colored metallic eye shadow over the top brings out a new look all together. I would really call this a multi use pencil and a great one at that.

I have used many eye pencils in my day and never had an irritation to any. Liked how UD went on smoothly, but after about 4-6 hours I couldn't wait to wash my eye make-up off. Eyes itched. Didn't know it was the pencils, until I noticed it was only when I used the UD pencils that caused this itching. And not for several hours. Used about 25 different pencils over the years and 1st problem. And not immediate, after a few hours. Why it took a while to figure out the culprit. Then I read ingredients. Looked up on I-net, ingredients are common skin irritants. Also have many carcinogenic ingredients. Looked on another site for product safety and not UD pencils not considered very safe. Have been reading ingredients in food & hair prodicts, now make-up too? They don't anmial test. Perhaps they need to put more importance on safety of humans. Want products that work, not irritate or harm me potentially. Unfortunately the safest eye pencils were they usually the most expensive & natural brands. UD isn.t cheap, but maybe our $ is going into packaging, not product safe. Guess less products & safer ones would be smarter.Too bad, as I am (was) a product junkie, but don't want to use products with 5-6 known or possible carcionegenic ingredients in them. Getting the irritation caused me to look up the ingredients and it was quite a shock.And learning experience.

it is the best liner i've ever used. glides very easy, no need to run more than once, easy to correct if you do it right away, once set (about 5 sec) then it lasts and lasts and lasts. no smudging! gentle for the eye lids because there's no pulling or tugging to put the liner on. got another one right away!

i have this pencil in several other colors,and they are fine. However Zero is very smudgy. Although I take the utmost of care in applying it - it's no use. I always have to rub smudges from under my eyes. Also, the color could be a little less stark.

It goes smother than MAC and does almost same job. Great for smoky look.
