Comments about UV Natural Lip Screen Sport SPF30, .17 oz:

This is one of only about 7 different lip products approved by the Environmental Working Group for safe sun protection. It does make your lips a little whitish, which doesn't look great. But if you are outdoors for a long time and care about protecting your skin, then this product is the way to go.

I prefer the non-sport version of this

    Pros

    • Effective Protection

    Cons

    • Greasy or Heavy

    Best Uses

Comments about UV Natural Lip Screen Sport SPF30, .17 oz:

I tried this and the UV Natural lipscreen (not Sport version) to see the difference, and this sport version is definitely greasier. I prefer the non-sport version, and that one became my favorite lipscreen last summer. Unfortunately, drugstore.com seems to have stopped selling the other version.

This 'Sport' version may be better if doing watersports since the oils may repel the water better.

Comments about UV Natural Lip Screen Sport SPF30, .17 oz:

This is a pretty decent pick if you're looking for a sun protection product for the lips based on inorganic [aka 'physical', 'insoluble'] sunscreen ingredients. I purchased this due to the inclusion of a high amount of micronized zinc oxide and not really because the product is made from organic or familiar-sounding ingredients, but in any case, it delivers on the sun protection front, and for those who prefer organic products or wish to use familiar-sounding chemicals near the mouth [I guess one technically could accidentally swallow a bit of a lip sunscreen] this is a fine choice in that regard, as well.

This is slightly less-moisturizing than most lip-balms, so what I recommend is applying a coat of your favorite moisturizing lip product in the morning and then a coat of this immediately over the top, reapplying this product throughout the day as needed. This also tends to reduce the initial iridescent cast that the product produces, though almost all products based on inorganic/physical sunscreens will produce this when first applied, and while this product is no exception, the cast diminishes after rubbing this product in thoroughly.

Comments about UV Natural Lip Screen Sport SPF30, .17 oz:

This is the best SPF lip protection on the market. Yes, it does leave a white coat at first, but if you use it sparingly and rub in well ,it's great. There is no taste and no smell. The white color is because it contains a high amount of Spf that actually is protecting you from the sun!!

Comments about UV Natural Lip Screen Sport SPF30, .17 oz:

I have been using Banana Boat big stick lip sunscreen products for years because they are so effective and don't have an unpleasant smell or taste. But, I've been reading lately about the bad possible side effects of the active ingredient oxybenzone and an increased risk of melanoma which is present in all Banana Boat products. I searched for a "safe" lip sunscreen and came up with UV Natural Sport Lip Sunscreen. It has the active ingredient zinc oxide and no apparent harmful ingredients. I wish it would have said in its advertising that when one wears it, you have white lips. I tend to smear the stuff all around my lips since I've had some small cancers and when I first put this on I looked like a clown with big white lips! I ordered 2 sticks of this and I'm not sure how I'm going to make it work unless I'm doing undercover work somewhere, climbing Mount Everest or snorkeling out on the Great Barrier Reef where there are no other people. I wear sunscreen protection on my lips every day and this is definitely not going to work for me. I'm sure it does the trick in terms of sunscreen protection but the fact that it turns your lips and anything else white is something that should have been mentioned in their advertising.
