Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: I have a mustache and I shave my head. With this product I get clean, smooth shaves without the usual nicks and cuts, especially on my head. Pros

Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: I have tried all three Van Der Hagen shaving soaps (Select, Deluxe, Glycerine) and they are ALL better than the many other brands of mug-and-brush cakes now available (or discontinued). They are a joy to use because they stay WETTER on the face. I can't say which one I like best... you can't go wrong with any of the three. Drop a cake in your mug, lather up with a hot, wet badger brush and fire away! Pros

Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: GREAT shaving soap. The price is very misleading. Picked it up at a chain pharmacy while traveling (couldn't find the "good stuff") and was skeptical. Great lather, close shave, and I even liked the scent...clean and citrus-like. Oh, and I love that it's vegetable based and not animal tested. Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: Decent shaving soap. Use a boar or synthetic brush, not badger. Otherwise the soap doesn't really stay in the brush as well as other soaps. Oh, and the fragrance is reminiscent/identical to Grey Flannel. It is a an oakmoss and sandalwood scent by Geoffery Beene, a very subdued masculine scent and is not strongly present in this soap; you won't go around smelling like oakmoss all day. Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: I'm absolutely baffled that none of the previous reviewers mentioned smell of this shave soap. I have around 10 shave soaps and shave creams (real shave creams, not the kind in the can). I always test a new shave soap to see if I think I'll like the scent by simply washing my hands with it. I thought the smell of this soap was just awful. I thought it had a very, very strong cheap cologne smell that is hard for me to describe. So strong I could taste it by just smelling the dry soap. I can only speak about the scent rather than its lathering capability or its lubricating qualities since believe it or not I threw it in the garbage without shaving with it. I'm not chemically sensitive, but the smell kind of made me feel ill. I'm only sharing my personal experience or lack thereof in relation to this soap. Obviously others feel differently that I do. Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: Excellent product. Don't let the low price fool you. It will enable you to have a smooth slick shave. The moisturizing properties are excellent also. Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: Inexpensive, excellent lather, and best of all, vegetable-based. I'm vegetarian, and there aren't a lot of choices for shaving soap. Herban Cowboy is another choice, but it doesn't lather as well as the Van Der Hagen. Comments about Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap, 2.5 oz: This shave soap produces a rich lather which gives a very comfortable shaving experience. I have used the very expensive imported shave soaps and find that Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap is as good or better than the imported ones. Displaying reviews 1-9 ![]() |
