While all sunscreens protect your skin from the sun's burning UVB rays, Vanicream™ Sunscreen SPF 60 contains zinc oxide, an ingredient that offers additional protection from the UVA rays which may contribute to skin damage and premature aging of the skin.
Antioxidants in the formula help prevent damage to the skin by neutralizing free radicals produced when skin is exposed to the sun.

Warnings
For external use only. When using this product keep out of eyes, rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if skin rash or irritation develops and lasts. Keep out of reach of children. Sun protection measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. and wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor. For use on skin only.

My five-year-old redheaded, fair-skinned daughter has tried every over-the-counter sunscreen made (including the more expensive brands that are for the most sensitive skin) and she is allergic to every one of them. Our pediatric dermatologist recommended Vanicream and we, too, were hesitant at first. This is the only sunscreen that keeps her from burning and hiving. Now she can play outside for a while during the summer. We have taken her to Busch Gardens, a water park and to BBQs. No burning and it neither sweats off nor swims off. (Although we do reapply every few hours and after swimming.) I can't say enough about how this product has enhanced my daughters quality of life. It may be more expensive than other brands, but you get what you pay for ;)

I was searching high and low for a sunblock to use on my face that wouldn't make me look like a greasy geisha. I read all the reviews on this site and thought this was it....It isn't, people.....sigh.. I have combination skin that is very sensitive. This block doesn't burn and does protect, but, boy, it is shiny! I gave it plenty of time to absorb and tried using it over few different moisturizers, but it looks like Vaseline slathered all over. Search continues....

The only positive thing was it did not leave a white cast. It is very greasy & heavy. And I feel like I still got a little color and have extremly limited sun exposure and faithful about using sunblock. Wanted something light to totally block all sun. This is not it. Gave 2 stars only because it did not leave the usual white cast.

I can only use chemical-free sunblocks and am always on the look-out for a new one to try. I do understand that most chemical-free sunblocks have their drawbacks (i.e. like leaving a white cast behind) but these are the only kind that I can use. I decided to try this one since I like the Vanicream lotion. Well, this sunblock did not leave a white cast behind, but it left me looking so super shiny! Like I had rubbed pure vaseline all over myself. I have never had a sunblock leave me looking this greasy. It also felt heavy and kind of had the smell and feel of a chemical sunblock. I even tried using this just on my chest area and I couldn't even stand it on just that small area. Not sure how I am going to use this up! This one definitely needs to go back to the drawing board. Way too many other good chemical-free sunblocks out there for this one to be considered.

I really like Vanicream Sport Sunscreen SPF 35, but wanted something for daily use that was easier to apply and wash off, so I gave this a try. It is a little more greasy than the sport sunscreen which has a matte finish, but since it's not as heavy as the sport sunscreen and easier to wash off I find that I'm using it more often. The Environmental Working Group website which reviews and ranks sunscreens based on their effectiveness and safety, gave it a slightly lower score than the Sport version, but they're both mineral based products and have fewer harmful ingredients than chemical based sunscreens. I would consider purchasing again.

Way too shiny! It's great for sun protection, but it makes your skin so shiny and greasy that it's unusable. The only physical sunblock I have found that doesn't make your face shiny is Cotz Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40, but the tint is very noticeble on fair skin.

I love it because this is the only thing I use on my face for sunscreen that does not make my sensitive eyes tear. I can apply it right under my eyes and it does not make them tear. All other sunscreens make my eyes tear the whole time I am outside. I have very pale fair skin and I never get burned wearing this sunscreen. It is a bit thick to apply. It would be nice if it was a little thinner in consistancy.I would still highly recommend this product.

This product was recommended by the surgeon who removed a large basal cell skin cancer from my forehead. I love it, never burn and use it in place of moisturizer every morning, especially during summer. It leaves my skin feeling moist all day and gives me excellent protection under my makeup. Also, it is priced very reasonably considering how long a tube will last.
