I have been using Vanicream SPF 50+ for two months now and been very happy with it. My kids and I are outdoors a lot espcecially this summer. We have dark complexion to begin with and do not want to be any darker. This sunscreen does what it supposed to do. It absorbs into the skin and lasts longer than other sunscreens we've used before. It also applies evenly on our skin. Definitely water proof and that's important in my buying decision. I would definitely recommend this product!

We have used Vanicream 60 for nearly 9 years. We live in CO and are a family of 3 fair-complexion red-heads who spend a lot of time outside. We purchase 25+ tubes of Vanicream 60 every year. People have always said to me "It takes skill to keep a kid that white". I always respond "No, just ample amounts of Vanicream 60 applied regularly". My son who is almost 9 spends lots of time outside and is on a swim team every summer. He has NEVER had a sunburn (or even a line from his swim suit) until we began using the 50+. This new product is inferior compared to the old 60. It leaves a white film and never rubs completely in no matter how long, or how well you rub it in. It also is not water resistant and sweats off. We have not used anything but the Vanicream 60, but are now on the hunt for a new go-to sunscreen as I will not be buying anymore of the 50+.

I thought I was buying Vani Cream Hand lotion. Instead I got sunscreen. I have no use for this. Why can I no longer buy Vani Cream 2oz-4oz, purse size lotion?

Comments about Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+, 4 oz:

I found this product after research when my son, who has very fair sensitive skin, was bothered by other sunscreens. He never complains about this one. We are very fair people and with this product we can be outside in the sun and do not burn. Down side you really have to rub in or leaves a white film. I have no issues sacrificing the film look. Have been using it for five years now.

Comments about Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+, 4 oz:

My dermatologist suggested I use this for daily use as I work outside. It protects my skin fine, but I cannot seem to get it completely rubbed in because it leaves my skin so white that people were staring at me and commenting all day. Probably not so good for the face, but the arms, legs and chest never get burned. I am going to try Neutrogena SPF 100 now and see if I can get a sunscreen for my face that doesn't turn it white.

I'll only be using this in extreme conditions only, as it feels greasy, heavy & sticky when applied. Also looks chalky on the skin. It does work provide excellent sun protection. Was surprised that as terrible as it felt on my skin, I did not suffer any irritation after use.

Comments about Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+, 4 oz:

I had to switch to 50 SPF because they don't make 60 anymore. Turned out just fine. I have two young children who are light skin( very pale). One has very sensitive skin that other sunscreens irratate him. This brand allows both my kids to be at camp all day or the beach with coming home with a burn, of course being reapplyed. I like it being mostly chemical free. Only down side if not rubbed in well leaves a white shade but I don't care as long as my kids are protected.

Great Product for our child who has severely sensitive skin and multiple allergies to various oils and creams. Has an spf of 50 and protects against UVA and UVB, this leaves us confident that he will be protected and that he is getting the benefits of a paraben-free, zinc based product. Would highly recommend.

Comments about Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+, 4 oz:

Sadly, I have to agree with the other long-time users of Vanicream that this new formulation stinks. Very hard to rub in and once it is rubbed in it is impossible to wash off. It separates and becomes watery in the tube and even has a funky smell. Can we get the old Vanicream back? Pretty Please?

              Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+

               – A good broad spectrum sunscreen is one of the most important items you can pack for a day outdoors. Some people with sensitive skin, however, find that certain sunscreens can cause irritation and redness. Vanicream Sunscreen, SPF 50+ is specially formulated to protect your skin without potentially irritating additives, so it is the perfect choice for individuals with sensitive skin.

              Long-Lasting Protection

In addition to the immediate discomfort of a sunburn, unprotected UV exposure greatly increases your risk of developing skin cancer in the future. To minimize this risk, it's important to use a quality sunscreen whenever you will be spending time outside. Vanicream Sunscreen is effective at protecting against both UVA and UVB rays. Its rating of SPF 50+ means that it filters out more than 98 percent of this harmful radiation, and it is among the most protective sunscreens you can find. Vanicream meets the maximum water resistance level currently allowed by the FDA, and it will keep you protected in the water for up to 80 minutes. As with all sunscreens, you should make sure to reapply whenever you get out of the water--especially after towel drying. Even without water exposure, you should still reapply sunscreen at least once every two hours to ensure maximum protection.

              Increased Comfort

No one wants to use a sunscreen that is difficult to apply and makes you feel miserable while you wear it. Vanicream Sunscreen is formulated to be comfortable and easy to use. The non-greasy lotion is easy to spread all over your face and body. Free of dyes, fragrances, parabens, lanolin, and other additives, it is intended for people with sensitive skin to help minimize irritation. The product's non-comedogenic formula won't clog your pores or cause blackheads, so you can feel free to use it throughout your vacation without worrying about breakouts.
