I don't trust this thermometer at all. It beeps that it is done reading way too quickly so that if you try it again and again, the temperature keeps rising. I can never tell when it is giving an accurate reading and when it is not warmed up yet. It was cheap, but spend more to get one you can rely on.

I wanted a thermometer that would more quickly take my son's temperature than te others we have. This seemed great. However, when I took his temperature I was got a very low temp. Thinking it was user error, I used it on myself and took my temperature several times. The range was ~2 degrees (+/- 1 degree) which is a fairly high error rate for a digital thermometer, much higher than that published in the instructions (off the top of my head I think it said +/-0.2), and much higher than that I have experienced with other thermometers I have used. Still it is inexpensive and would help you get a ballpark (of course, the "feel the forehead of several people and compare" method does that too...).
