I bought this for use with our twin 1yo children. The thermometer beeps when taking temperatures. The children think I am showing them a new toy and try to grab the thermometer within the first 2 seconds. Keeping their hands away becomes a game. I have given up and returned to using an ear thermometer with them. Don't waste your time using this product with infants. As for my older child and wife, I checked several readings against two different thermometers, including an oral, mercury thermometer, and have found the readings of this device are almost always off (usually low) by 2 to 5 degrees. The ear and mercury thermometers were usually in close agreement. Great concept, unfortunately this is not a great product.

Okay, so I've had it a few months, and I was really excited about a thermometer that would measure air, body, and liquid thru container temps. However, the thing is so ridiculously hard to toggle between settings, and when you do anything other than air, it still just measures the air. So unless you mash the thing into the kid/patient/whomever's forehead, which it's supposed to be non contact, I dunno. Wish I could send it back. The air temperature reading is accurate and easy to take, but that doesn't warrant more than the 1 star I gave it.
