Ultraviolet Rays UVA & UVB

UVA rays have been shown to penetrate deeper into the skin, damaging the elasticity of the tissue which, along with UVB rays, may accelerate the aging of the skin.  There are two types of UVA rays which penetrate the skin at different levels.

UVA rays can penetrate through clouds and window panes, deep into the skin.  Dermatologists recommend protecting not only from UVB rays but also from UVA rays.

What does SPF mean?
SPF, or "Sun Protection Factor", is the degree of protection a sunscreen offers against UVB rays which cause sunburn.
