The Octopus Clip, perhaps because it has so many "legs," doesn't hurt, and that is a big plus in my book! I can easily pull up my past the shoulder length thick hair and clip in the Octopus Clip and voila! the hair is up and nothing hurts! The clip slides out of my hair with most hair-styles, and many times takes a couple of hairs with it. The first one broke before I got to try it, which is certainly a con. Not sure if it's a design flaw or just cheap construction. My hair is thick, wavy, and I can use the remaining clip for short periods to hold back some hair from sides and clip in back. Very inexpensive and might work for some hair types and styles. If you don't mind that it might not work for you or might break easily, it could be worth the couple of dollars to check it out. Best Uses Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: This is a decent clip, but if your hair is long and thick it's not big enough to hold it.

Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: I really like this clip. It's so comfortable that I forget that it's in my hair. It doesn't pull and since I'm trying to use less ponytail holders, it does the job.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: This is so comfortable I often go to bed with it, forgetting it's in my hair. My hair is very fine and this stays well if I position it high at back of head.

Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: Love this clip, I have lots of very curly hair and most clips don't hold it all, but this one DOES. Very good hold an doesn't scrunch your hair when you take it off like other clips.

Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: I have fine hair, ,and it works fine, but I think this clip is really meant for people with much thicker hair. I only use this when I have a bun, otherwise my hair falls right through. It is gentle on the scalp though, which I really like.

Best Uses Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: I purchased both Scunci and Vidal Sassoon Octopus Clips, and I was surprised at the differences. Both have their purposes, and I do like both. The Scunci clip is about 40% larger and also has a rubbery spine on each leg which gives it a MUCH better grip. The smaller Sassoon clip would be better for thinner, finer hair or for hairdos in which you only want to clip up part of your hair. My hair is very straight, below my shoulders, and quite thick. The Sassoon clip is too small to just clip my hair up to get it out of the way. It is perfect if I just want to put the front half of my hair up in a bun to get it out of my face. If I wrap all my hair into a bun, the other brand, Scunci, is large enough for me to clip around the bun so my hair is out of my way. In my opinion, if you have thick, curly hair you are probably better off with Scunci. As I already stated, if you have fine, thin hair, the smaller Vidal Sassoon clip is probably a good fit for you. If you fall anywhere in between like me, you could probably find a use for either/both of them.

Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Vidal Sassoon The Octopus Clip, 1 ea: I have fairly thick hair a little longer than shoulder length. I use this clip daily to keep my mess of hair off my neck and out of my face. I get compliments all the time! It is the only clip I've ever used that really does the job!!!
