Safeguards & Precautions:  Alkaline batteries are recommended for optimum performance.  Don't mix old and new batteries.  Do not immerse unit in water or liquid of any kind.  Avoid looking directly into the illuminated light when unit is turned on.  Parts of this device could present a choking hazard to young children.  Keep out of reach of children.  Unit is equipped with a safety mechanism that will not allow unit to go on when lid is removed.  If the bulb should stay lit when lid is open, do not look directly into the lit bulb.  Remove batteries, and contact VIOLight Customer Service.

Hold your Zapi upside down and unscrew bottom base. Open the battery compartment and insert 3 'AAA' batteries. Close compartment and screw base back on to your Zapi.  With your Zapi facing you, hold your toothbrush or electric head with bristles facing left. Insert your toothbrush into the hole at the top of your Zapi as shown in diagram.  Inside your Zapi there is a rubber holder.  Gently 'snap' the handle of your brush into the holder as shown in the diagram.  Press the white button to activate the germicidal UV light.  Button will blink for approximately 6 minutes during the sanitizing cycle.  When the blinking stops, your toothbrush is germ-free!  Cleaning the Drip Tray:  Squeeze sides of Zapi cover.  Pull cover up. If you have difficulty, insert a coin at seam & pry up to loosen.  Slide out drip tray & clean with warm soapy water.  Rinse & reassemble.  Use a damp cloth to clean the outside surfaces of your Zapi.
