I began using Vitabath in 1965 because I read that it was a detergent, not soap. Detergent is synthetic instead of being made from fat, which means that it does not leave residue on your skin that causes drying and itching - it rinses off more cleanly. I fell in love with that quality of it and the wonderful balsam-like fragrance that is natural, clean and invigorating.

I really feel like I get my money's worth from this soap. One bar lasts quite a while, and the scent is clean and pleasant. You can still smell the scent on your skin for a while after use and you feel clean all day! I combine it with the matching lotion. Other people have mentioned that it leaves your bathroom smelling nice afterwards. I agree!

I have used this soap for years in Europe. This is the first time I have seen it here. It has such a clean smell and also leaves a nice scent in the bathroom

All the other reviews are very positive and I agree that the fragrance is very fresh and outdoorsy and it lathers well, but I have never had any product dry out my hands so badly as this did. I don't know, maybe it was a bad reaction, but my hands felt so "tight" they actually hurt. Sorry to be a Debby Downer.

I have tried many soaps from organic to ultra moisturing and nothing beats this soap, especially for the great scent and lather.

Use this as a shower gel or bath gel. You can also use as bubble bath. The smell is similar to Irish spring. If you are a fan of that type of smell you will love this because the scent lasts EVEN LONGER than Irish spring, and it is LESS drying. Excellent lather, beautiful clean scent and hard to come by here in the states.

This soap is heavenly, with a sweet "forest" scent. I have been looking for the same product in a bath oil that used to be available years ago. I have not found it, but am thrilled to have found this soap in a bar form! I was hiding it from my fiance, so I could use it myself in my shower, but he found it, used it in his shower, and now I have to buy more, because he LOVES it. Of course, he now smells soooo good. But, I will buy much more, as we both love it so much! It is a wonderful soap with a wonderful scent--very different from anything I have ever used!
