VERY soft! I agree with the first poster, I also have tried about all the other extra soft brushes here and this one is the best by far! Super soft, very comfortable to use. The only other one I haven't tried is the Dr. Perrio which I will try next but I will also keep buying this one. Don't bother with the rest!

I have tried at least half a dozen soft bristle toothbrushes from Drugstore.com, and this is by far my favorite. It is ergonomically designed so that the angle of the handle and the angle of the brush somehow make it easy to get your teeth clean--a huge help to those of us with arthritis in our hands.

Some people won't like the fact that the resin handle doesn't stay shiny like plastic does, but that seems a small price to pay for the fact that resin is far more environmentally responsible. Others will object to the fact that a bristle occasionally gets bent. I assure you both of these are inconsequential compared to the overall ease of use and painlessness to the teeth and gums of using this toothbrush!

And the BONUS--TA DAH!--is that there are no surprises about what color you're gonna get. The Extra Soft is a very attractive light turquoise.
