If you notice redness, excessive swelling, tenderness, increased warmth in the wound area, pus or watery discharge, or any other signs of infection, consult a physician.
Begin by wrapping over 1st layer and around body part. Repeat, overlapping pervious area by 1/2 to 1/3 of it's width, smoothing after each turn.
Bandage should be rolled on without tension. Do not apply under tension as excess constriction may result.
The finished wrap should be firm but not so tight that there is discomfort. If it feels tight, or there is discomfort, it should be unwrapped and reapplied.
Apply 3rd layer (tape).
Recommended Uses:
Apply as a 2nd layer dressing on wounds with heavy drainage which require a maximum level of absorption and cushioning.
Apply as a 2nd layer dressing on wounds in areas that are difficult to dress (e.g. head and limb).
General Wound Care:
Wash hands
Gently cleanse wound area thoroughly using mild soap and water. Dry wound area.
Treat wound as directed by physician or nurse.
Apply 1st layer dressing on wound for protection.
Apply 2nd layer dressing for absorption and to cushion wound.
Apply 3rd layer (tape) to secure dressing.
Change dressing daily or as needed to keep dressing dry, or as directed by a physician or nurse.
