Cleanse finger & wound. Apply small amount of antibiotic cream and a small non-stick sterile gauze pad to any open skin, cut or abrasion. Hold in place with small piece of adhesive tape
Measure gauze tube against injured finger or toe. Tube should be 2 1/2 times the length of the finger or toe. Trim to fit if necessary
Slide gauze tube over the end of the finger or toe to the base. Gather remaining gauze tube all the way to tip of finger or toe. Twist tail one complete turn
Pass second layer over finger or toe
Use thin strip of adhesive tape to secure dressing at base of finger or toe. Wrap tape around once only. If finger becomes blue, cold or numb, loosen tape slightly. If redness, numbness, swelling or pain persists, consult your doctor at once
If desired, apply rubber cot to protect gauze from moisture and dirt
