That is a big mistake; this does not replace flossing. I use this device 4 times per day, and I used to think it was getting my teeth spotlessly clean and there was no need to floss. Then one day I bought a scaler tool (the tool dentists use). After using the WaterPik, I scraped my teeth and still got a LOT of plaque inbetween teeth and near the gumline.
