That is a big mistake; this does not replace flossing. I use this device 4 times per day, and I used to think it was getting my teeth spotlessly clean and there was no need to floss. Then one day I bought a scaler tool (the tool dentists use). After using the WaterPik, I scraped my teeth and still got a LOT of plaque inbetween teeth and near the gumline. When I repeated the same exercise 2 weeks later but using floss instead of the Pik, the scaler removed less plaque. The first time I used it was a complete water mess because I "knew better" and didn't follow the instructions of using the pause button and keeping my mouth down toward the sink. But the stuff that flies out after I already thought I had done a thorough cleaning...amazing, and my teeth always feel just like they do after a professional cleaning. Bought one for my adult kid and my aging father who were also thrilled with it. Pros

I am 55 years old and recently had to have braces (not by choice) and this waterpik cleans my teeth wonderfully. I am also hoping that on my next dental visit, the dentist will notice an improvement in my gums as well. Bought this model for my son & family today! Pros

I do no know if this is curing the problem (too soon to know), but it seems to work really well. Pros

Comments about WaterPik Ultra Water Flosser, Model WP 100, 1 ea: I have never used or purchased an oral pressurized water dispensing device.As recommended in directions I started @ a low pressure setting.I have been using dailly for a few weeks now and am up to using @ 35% pressure strenth.Within the first 3-4 seconds of use I was glad I listened to the Dental Hygienist,I was amazed @ how it rinsed food particle out from between my teeth.(And I did a thoural job flossing seconds prior to using).If ,when turning on machine with wand pointing into sink,it doesn't start to shoot water soon just push down on the water resevoir(It wasn't "seated" is why water didn"t pulsate out) Pros
