It's been really emotional and expensive to have as much work done to my mouth as I have! To have tons of dental problems my entire life has just not been pleasant-and I'm only 27. This is my first time using the WaterPik, and I think I've found the answer to my prayers.

Like a lot of people, my problems are mainly from not well flossing enough. The spaces between my teeth vary from very tight to very loose, even after having braces, and it's always been impossible to make sure I've cleaned every space properly, even after using different types of floss (dental tape, uncoated, waxed, etc.)

I decided to buy the WaterPik after visiting my aunt who owns one-she had nothing but great things to say about it.

After getting my wisdom teeth removed, finishing all my dental repair work, getting a cleaning, xrays, and a new retainer- buying a WaterPik was the final step in my catch-up to-do list for mouth.

The WaterPik has not only helped clean out everything I could never manage to flush out with mouthwash, brushing, and flossing, but it's been fantastic at stimulating all of my gums. After a month and a half post wisdom teeth extraction, some of the gum areas near my molars have still been very sore and aching throughout the day. After the first time with the WaterPik, the pain was almost completely GONE. The more frequently I use my WaterPik, the less pain I have.

In the end, the WaterPik has been a great help for me and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase! The price here is really great, too. I use the pressure at a level 8 (of 10) and have to refill the tank 2-3 times in a single use. It's lightly inconvenient but not enough of an issue that I regret my purchase. I just keep a water bottle near the sink and refill it before hand so I can refill the tank easily and with one hand.

As another user mentioned, this is my Step 1 of 3 parts to my dental routine. Following the WaterPik, I floss then brush. My teeth feel close to that dentist-clean feeling and that is not only satisfying but eases my mind at night. Until I have total confirmation that this can replace my flossing routine, I'll continue to do both (but I rarely do I find food particles or anything left).

For once, I'm excited about my next trip to the dentist to see what progress I've made. I think it'll be a good one!

If you have had bad dental life like like me, give this product a shot. I'm thrilled about it, and the raving reviews tell me you won't be disappointed.

Be careful about all the glowing reviews from people who say they no longer need to floss after using this. That is a big mistake; this does not replace flossing. I use this device 4 times per day, and I used to think it was getting my teeth spotlessly clean and there was no need to floss. Then one day I bought a scaler tool (the tool dentists use). After using the WaterPik, I scraped my teeth and still got a LOT of plaque inbetween teeth and near the gumline. When I repeated the same exercise 2 weeks later but using floss instead of the Pik, the scaler removed less plaque.

This device is a supplement to, not a replacement for, flossing. Where this device is good is for people with orthodontics and for those with pockets under the gum line. For regular folks, this device is only good for removing food immediately after eating. Don't be lazy -- you still need to floss!

I have sesitive gums that bleed easily every time I floss. In addition, i have a couple bridges that are hard to floss in between. Waterpik Ultra solves both problems for me: As an alternative to flossing, it actually does a better job. My mouth feels much fresher after using it. It also cleans under and in between the bridges very well. Now, i don't need to floss any more, and both my teeth and gums feel much better. The best [$]I ever spent!

Comments about WaterPik Ultra Water Flosser, Model WP 100, 1 ea:

I like being able to adjust the amount of pressure. I chose this model because I was afraid the cheaper ones would not be as strong. So far I've only turned it to half strength so I'm very satisfied. I also like the features of this unit. You can store your pik in a closed container in the lid. The attach/release for the pik tool is very well designed and a snap to use. The unit is fairly quiet. The water tank is easy to remove, fill, and reattach and seems to hold just enough to go over every tooth. I'm glad I purchased this unit. I think it is worth the few extra dollars over a cheaper model. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. Oh, one last thing. I was afraid I was going to have to get a root canal because of a sensitive tooth. I think this unit has helped cear up the problem. I also recomend swashing your mouth afterwards with a mild peroxide solution or a rinse. Directions also say you can add a solution to the tank if you wish.

Have used a WaterPik for over 20 years and finally had to replace my old war horse. My new WaterPik looks prettier on my counter, seems to work as well and is a little quieter. Hope it works as well and for as long..........

when my 14 year sons asked for a waterpic for Christmas...yes shocking. For some reason The View was on and it happened to be Whoopi's birthday. She was promoting the waterpic as one of her gifts. So when my kids wrote up their Christmas list, my son wanted the waterpic from The View. Found the product online and it was over $100.00. Went on Drugstore .com read all the great review and Thank You, they were very helpful and the price was great.

My dentist recommended an irrigator for oral hygiene, stating it can even eliminate the need for flossing. I bought 2 units, one for my husband and 1 for me. It takes a bit of practice to avoid spraying the bathroom mirror and walls. It works well for getting in between teeth to remove food particles, and the flow pressure can be adjusted. I studied the reviews before making my purchases, & a deciding factor was the flow control knob on the unit, instead of the wand. There is a button on the wand that stops the flow when depressed, and starts it again when released, which is also a good thing.
