We don't want to give him flouride or saccharin. Or SLS--it's bad enough it's in all the laundry detergents! I surely don't want to put it in his mouth. Besides, even though it's coconut-derived, it's an irritant. So why risk it in their mouths??? VS Most Liked Negative Review Sad to say, will not use again... My son liked it, but still wasn't thrilled about brushing his teeth. I wasn't completely satisfied with it, especially since I had to basically brush his teeth for him. I didn't think it was effective enough and was a little skeptical about some of the ingredients. The metal tube was also a pain and ended up breaking open and making a mess. After expanding my search to other sites, I decided to purchase Earth's Best Toddler Toothpaste. The ingredients seemed to be better for dental care. My son went crazy over it, he is now excited to brush his teeth and actually brushes his own teeth. I quickly learned to squeeze the toothpaste into the bristles instead of putting it on top of the bristles because he likes it so much that he tries to suck the toothpaste off the toothbrush to eat it. It gets his teeth and gums squeeky clean and gives him fresh breath. So because of that, I have switched to the Earth's Best Toddler Toothpaste and would not purchase the Weleda Children's Tooth Gel again or recommend it to a friend. Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: Drugstore.com has the best price I can find for Weleda Children's Tooth Gel. My kids love it for the taste, I love it for the ingredients. It has a great score on EWG's Skin Deep database. Pros

Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: I got this product because it is all natural without fluoride or sodium laurel sulfate. It tastes like medicine to me but my kids like it. My oldest liked it immediately but it took a few days for my youngest to warm up to it. My youngest thought it tasted bad and was "spicy" (as she describes anything that has that minty or spearament zing to your tongue). I probably won't buy this again because of its cost and taste.

Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: I switched to this toothpaste from Jason Kids toothpaste (strawberry flavored) because it was on sale. My daughter likes the flavor...she says its spicy but since she's 2, I think she means minty. It appears to clean her teeth pretty well. I like that it doesn't have any bad ingredients for kids so I am not worried about my daughter occasionally swallowing it. The only thing that I don't really like is that it doesn't really froth up like other toothpastes and it dissolves quickly so I feel like I have to use more to get the job done.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: My two year old son does not like brushing his teeth but doesn't mind it when using the Weleda toothpaste. It leaves his breath minty fresh. The only downside is that he likes to eat it instead of brushing his teeth with it.
Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: This is a pleasant-tasting toothpaste and it cleans teeth well. I love that the ingrediants don't pose health risks for my child and she loves the flavor (so do I...). The tube lasts a while and you only need a little bit to brush effectively. I like that it doesn't create a heavy foam, which helps with my toddler who is learning to brush her own teeth, so I can see into her mouth and she's not always having to swallow or spit. My only quibble is the price. I buy this when I have Drugstore dollars to help reduce the price -- I can't get over paying more than three bucks for toothpaste, no matter how "green" it is. Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: Nice Pros

Comments about Weleda Children's Tooth Gel, 1.7 oz: I wanted to avoid regular toothpaste for my 2 year old (swallow safe) because the ingredients, among other things, include plasticizers and have been linked to higher cholesterol. This paste smells and tastes great which has encouraged our daughter to ask to have her teeth brushed each night.
