The soap is great...Wonderful scent as well...I do reccomend a good quality badger bristle brush to get the most lather from this soap.

This stuff is great. I love the smell, nice and lemony. Very very slick, much better glide than van der hagen, leaves skin soft and moisturized after the shave. i have tried a bunch of different soaps and creams, and every time i go back and try this again, it reminds me why i love it so much. stocked up and use this as my daily go to.

I tried this again last week after using the Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap for many years. Not a pleasant experiment. The Williams product is kind of like shaving with Ivory soap. Less lather, dries more quickly, leaves more residue, smells like harsh chemicals -- I have nothing good to say about the Williams shave soap. Oh, it's fifty cents cheaper -- notice it is also 3/4 ounce less product. Good luck, guys.

Got this for my boyfriend as a little treat in my last drugstore.com haul. I expected him to be weirded out by it because he is used to using high end shaving cream...at best I thought he would use it a couple of times and then go back to his usual stuff. He loved it! He uses a badger brush to shave, and this soap is perfect for lathering it up. It has also stopped his mild breakouts after shaving. He says he thinks it's because it also has cleansing power "like regular soap." The only thing that is sort of a bummer about it is that it needs a little soap dish...but for a buck fifty I ain't complainin'. Buy it for your man, if he doesn't dig it, you won't be out much.

I have been using this shaving soap for about 8 years, it lasts and lasts, no cans or aerosols or expensive waste associated with it. A simple ceramic cup made by my wife and an inexpensive brush and I get the job taken care of. I just use a drugstore razor with disposible blades but the last a long time too with little waste. (more than a straight razor but that is just a little much for my bleary eyes in the morning.) I just finished making some shaving mugs to sell in art fairs with my other pottery and ordered a box of Williams to give out. Spread the joy.

I have tried other mug shaving soaps, even those that are very expensive, but get the closest shave with this one. It lathers great and seems to protect my face. It's the only soap I use.

Since I started using this shave soap...I dont get any nicks or any kind of irritations from shaving...I am sticking with it ...no more canned shaving cream for me !
