Many reviewers state that this tanner produces a great olive toned color and that is true. I have very fair skin and the color I get with this is very natural. However, the other reason that I continue to buy this over and over is because it dries so quickly. I like that I can put it on before bed, let it dry for a bit while I finish up with my night time routine, and then dress and get into bed without feeling like a sticky mess. I still wear long sleeve and long pant cotton pj's, but it is much better than any other brand I've tried. And if you need to apply on vacation or when you are around other people, it is a huge help that this can be applied and you can dress within a reasonable amount of time. Definitely use gloves with this. I didnt for a while and then decided to try some and it is a huge time saver, not having to scrub my palms after. I use gloves to apply to my whole body, then when I am ready to go to bed (and done using the sink), I apply to the backs of my hands.

Best self tanner. Smells great and produces a nice looking tan. The first time I tried it I thought I did not tan at all until I went into the sun. Very natural looking. That says alot considering I have very fair skin. However, do not buy the glove. It takes more time to apply and it absorbs the product. Latex gloves make the application process go quicker and does not absorb the self tanner.

this product is good,but you really to need to scrub yourself before using.The smell is kind of strong but it diminishes after a shower or two.It looks like you have been tanning forever.Just need to rub it in real good and your set to go.It dries fairly quick too,in about an hour or two.So try it what have you got to loose.

Normally, I put self tanner on before I go to bed and would never wear it out, probably due to the smell. This product looks great when you first put it on and it smells pretty good, too. I might even wear it out, but I didn't intend on that since the reason I bought it was to look good for a beach vacation where I will be spending a lot of time in the water. The main problem I have with this product is, when you shower, there is almost no color left over. I know they say that you are only washing away the "color guide" when you shower, but there's only a slight hint of color left once the color guide is gone. Also, I am very, very fair, so it shouldn't be difficult for a product to make it look like I have more color than I do.

The actual color was natural looking, not orangy. The problem was that the little color I did have after I showered didn't even last long. I would say that it was completely unnoticible two days later. So, if you're looking for a product to give you a tiny bit of color for one speical day, this would probably be OK. But if you want something that's going to actually make you look really tan and that's going to last for a few days, you'll probably be disappointed with this.

I have very fair skin and I absolutely LOVE Zen Tan. I have been using it for about 3 years now. You do always have to wear gloves when you apply or else your hands will be brown, but that is a small price to pay to have a nice fake tan. I have used it all over my body, but it does take some time to apply it all evenly, so normally, I just put it on my face, chest and arms every 3-5 days to keep my tan. You will get better at applying it as time goes on and I have had a instances where i missed a spot or something, but it was b/c I applied too fast and didnt take my time. It does have a slight odor, but its very tolerable and nothing like some of the other products I have used. I actually like how it smells. I also use lotion to blend it into areas like my elbows or the insides of my arms and wrists, and that really works well. I do think this is a pricey product, but it lasts a long time. I buy a bottle every 6 months or so and I use it at least once a week. I also don't know what the guy is talking about who said it is wet and greasy after application. It does take around 30 seconds to dry, but its not greasy at all. It is much darker as it goes on, but the dirty color rinses off in the morning and you have a great tan. It will get on your sheets and clothes, but it washes out easily.

The only thing I don't like about this product is that it is a little sticky and greasy at first for a couple of hours. I like how this product and the mouse give you nice dark colors and no bad smell. Some of this washes away after your shower but not as much as the mouse. It does last about 5 days if your moisturize.

Here's the good, bad and ugly truth about XEN-TAN. First the good: The odor is not objectionable. It produces a nice even color that's not orange or fake looking. Because there's color in the product, you see an instant tan. The Bad: The color of the product is dark brown. It's like applying melted chocolate to your body! Guys: because you really have to rub it in, the product gets a little nappy as it dries. If you have hairy legs, arms or chest, it will pill up and get caught in the hair. You really have to pay attention to clean-up. Make sure you wash your hands well. Any product left under fingernails, between fingers, toes and rough spots will turn dark brown. I used a dark towel to wipe knees, heals, elbows just in case. The ugly: XEN-TAN is very messy! It's like make-up. Don't have anything white near you after you apply this stuff. No white towels, linens or clothes until you wash the stuff off your skin. It will stain. It's expensive - not worth [$] in my opinion.

After seeing several positive reviews, I was super excited to try this product out. I am a religious St. Tropez user and even though I love ST, I thought I would give this a shot since I heard that a lot of people found it to have a very realistic color. I bought this along with the face tanner luxe and after I exfoliated and applied them, I woke up the next day looking like a pumpkin. I am not sure what kind of "olive color" this was suppose to be but it was BRIGHT ORANGE on my skin. My face was no better... absolutely terrible. I suppose I had to try and see for myself but I am going back to my St. Tropez mousse and lotion. Save yourself the money and buy something else!

I really love Xen Tan, but for some reason sometimes after an application my tan would be splotchy or fade quickly while other applications went on perfectly. Don't know why I had trouble sometimes but overall excellent product.

Very disappointed with this product. I used it as directed after showering and exfoliating with their product, except I used gloves to apply it. After three and a half hours, I showered it off. There was hardly any tan; maybe equal to a $10 drugstore brand marked "very light." I decided to apply another thicker application this morning, this time with my hands. Same thing. I now have TWO applications on my body of a supposedly DARK lotion and my tan? Nada. I've used self-tanners for two or three years and I am very sorry to say this one is a complete waste of money. Sad.
