So here's what I figured out to make this product work better. Pump the lotion into your hand, add 1-2 drops of any oil meant for sensitive skin. You might get greasy if you add too much so be sure to experiment. (I personally use Aveda's All Sensitive oil right now but have also used neem oil.) The oil helps emulsify the thick lotion and it goes on no problem. So you still get the all the benefits without the hassle.

I used to have the Yes to Tomatoes face moisturizer, which I loved-- non-greasy, leaves skin feeling great, and a very nice, mild scent. I was looking for something natural with some SPF and found this, so I thought I'd give it a try. It is so thick that it's hard to rub in and leaves my face looking white from the SPF, and all ruddy from having to rub it so much. And because it was so thick, I felt like it had no "calming" effect whatsoever, just clogged my pores. Maybe I would have seen a beneficial effect if I'd used it consistently for a week, but it's so poorly textured and makes my skin feel so heavy that I just haven't used it.

I assumed there would be more consistency between the "Yes To" products, so I'm pretty disappointed. But I definitely recommend the "Yes to Tomatoes" facial moisturizer!

Comments about Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer SPF 30, 1.4 fl oz:

        This product damaged my skin....

Before I got this product I had used the Yes To Grapefruit moisturizer. I was happy with it but wanted something with sunscreen. I saw the Yes to Cucumber and thought that would be good to try. It had Sunscreen and said it was for sensitive skin! I don't have sensitive skin, I just wanted the Sunscreen with the moisturizer more than anything. I wished I researched it before buying though...

The product didn't blend in (made my face look ghostly), so started using it at night instead. After a week of use my skin started to feel very dry and look aged. Later my skin began to burn and peel! The white stuff that would not blend in became more and more difficult to get off! I had tried to wipe the excess off on a towel and the product BLEACHED MY TOWEL!!! If this stuff could bleach a towel, imagine what it did to my face!! I discontinued use and started only applying coconut oil and olive oil to my skin, skin no longer burns and the dry feeling and peeling is getting better (its been about a week since I've used the product).

Comments about Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer SPF 30, 1.4 fl oz:

I have been looking for a moisturizer with SPF to use in the winter since Clinique changed the formula for its Superdefense Combination Dry (booo!) I have combination/oily skin generally, but the cold weather makes my skin drier, so I need something more moisturizing than products for combination/oily or "normal" skin usually are. I was excited to try this product since I have used other Yes to Cucumbers products in the past and the idea of a more natural product with mineral sunscreen ingredients (instead of chemical sunscreens) appealed to me. I wish I'd read the reviews first! This moisturizer is very thick and difficult to spread. It feels and spreads like a true sunscreen, not a moisturizer, and it leaves behind a film of white pigment--not entirely surprising, since it's almost 20% mineral sunscreens, but not the look I was going for! I have fair skin, and the white pigment was clearly visible on my face and neck--it looked kind of like I'd had clown makeup on and hadn't been able to completely wash it off. The white film was still visible hours later and made me look even paler than usual, so it wasn't a matter of simply waiting for the lotion to sink in. I can only imagine that this would be worse on people with darker complexions. This product smells like other Yes to Cucumbers products (namely, like cucumbers) and the smell persists for hours; it's not offensive, but if you don't want to smell like cucumbers, this is not the product for you. This product also left my skin feeling slightly sticky, much like a thicker sunscreen would. I will be returning this product immediately, and I would not recommend it unless you are looking for an all-natural sunscreen and not a moisturizer.

Even though I eventually managed to figure out how to apply this stuff without leaving a chalky mess behind (which was no small feat), I just couldn't deal with the sticky feeling that never went away no matter how little I applied. It just felt heavy and greasy all day, and given that my skin is already on the oily side, it just didn't work. The smell was really unpleasant, too. I'm bummed because I LOVE the Yes to Cucumber body butter and eye gel, so had high hopes for this product, but it just isn't going to work with my skin. It might pair well with dryer skin, though, but I'd still be hesitant to recommend it because of the smell and curdled texture.

I bought this thinking it was a daily moisturizer with spf 30 which is what it advertises itself as, but I noticed after 2 uses that it is just sunscreen. The packaging leads you to believe it is lotion with spf, but upon reading the back of the bottle, you quickly find its just sunscreen. I'm sure its great sunscreen, but I wanted a moisturizer.

The texture of this product is just disgusting, it's thick and chunky and heavy, it doesn't absorb well and leaves a nasty coating on the skin. I should have known better than to get an "all natural" product with sunscreen since the only all natural sunscreens are based on zinc oxide.

I found this cream to be difficult to rub in to the skin. Made with zinc and titanium oxides, it goes on like a mineral based sunscreen lotion that requires much rubbing to avoid white streaks. I won't use it as a daily moisturizer, but am keeping it on hand to use as a sunscreen.
