I am having massive problems with a guy I am dating right now, he keeps me up late arguing with him all the time, he makes me cry, and the stress he puts on me emotionally is almost unbearable. That being said, my eyes look like hell and I'm sick of looking like I'm tired all the time. I've tried almost everything, and the closest thing that came to alleviating the stubborn puffiness was tucks pads, but then a friend brought this yes to cucumbers over to me, even she thought i needed something, and i thought it would be like any other products i tried, ineffective. But i was surprised when i felt the skin around my eyes tighten up after i applied it, so i immediately went to the mirror and looked and actually noticed it reduced puffiness immediately. Not completely diminished but i looked way better than before. It's only been 3 days and its working wonderfully, so i am hoping that with time, it will completely eliminate them, i just need to eliminate the boyfriend who's causing me all this grief!

Fool me twice

This is the second product I wasted money on that promises to reduce puffiness, hence the title of my review. I had also tried Garnier's Skin Renew Anti-Puff Roller (separate review).

This is the second product I wasted money on that promises to reduce puffiness, hence the title of my review. I had also tried Garnier's Skin Renew Anti-Puff Roller (separate review).

An online friend recommended this to me, from a beauty community. She loves it, saying she used it for years. I got it, being fooled by the hype and claims on the packaging. Thing is, I've heard cucumber extract is good for puffiness for years....So, I thought, "Okay---this should work then."

Before trying the Garnier product and this, I had tried Preparation H (supposed to be good for puffy eyes) and pressing chilled spoons under my eyes. Neither did much.

This product leaves a film, and it takes a few minutes to dry! I thought I was using too much, so I used less. Still a problem, and the worst part is that you can NOT put sunscreen or make-up over it! If you do, it will rub off or "pill up" on you. And, it doesn't contain an SPF!! So, I wouldn't want to use it during the day. There's a slight improvement in puffyness I THINK, but not enough to make the cost of this product worth it!!

Putting make-up on first would not make sense, since this is supposed to reduce puffy eyes. You'd want this stuff directly on your skin, if it WORKED.

It does feel soothing, and it smooths my lines a bit. But I got it for PUFFY eyes. I store it in the frig, for the cooling effect. But I'd stick to using it a night, since it doesn't have SPF. I do like the fragrance.

Cosmetics Cop Paula Begoun says it's not the cucumber extract that reduces puffyness, but the coolness of the cucumber. They (cucumber slices) just happen to be the right size & shape for eyes. In that case, anything cold would do. Including spoons or some other chilled item.

Unlike some women, I didn't have a reaction to the product.

I will use this up, but I will not buy it again. What a waste of money. I gather from reading Paula's review that one is better off drinking green tea and eating cucumbers, since no real skin benefit (using topically) has been proven, either for the green tea or the cucumber.

I want to add that I'm 51, and these "fat pads", "pouches", "bags"---whatever, could be due to aging. I also have allergies, which can make them worse. That being said, I wanted SOMETHING to reduce them even just a LITTLE bit. I don't want to look tired, even if I am. Also don't want to scare people.

So, my search continues.

Comments about Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel, 1.01 fl oz:

I used this product in the evenings in the hopes that it would help depuff and lighten the sensitive skin under my eyes. Unfortunately, it didn't happen, my skin would sting if I put more than a tiny drop under an eye, and I would always wake up with some of the product dried as white residue on my face (indicating that it was NOT absorbed well). On the plus side, it did have a nice cooling sensation as long as I ignored the sting.

Overall, would not recommend to anyone!

Ive always heard cucumbers were good for relieving tired puffy eyes so I thought this would be a good product to buy. I found it to not only be ineffective, but it irritated the skin under my eyes....made them kind of crusty which of course is not a desirable effect! My search for a good under-eye product continues.....

I usually love the Yes To...products. However, this is the first product I don't like. I can use this at night, but it's not as moisturizing as I'd like. I prefer to use more lightweight eye creams and gels in the morning, and this one peels off. I put it on, and apply my makeup (undereye concealer, etc) about a half hour later. Then an hour or so after than, my makeup peels off with the eye gel. So I don't like this, it completely peels off my skin and does not sink in.

A little better than the Yes to Blueberries and Yes to Carrots eye creams, but still mediocre, compared to Boots #7 Protect & Perfect, that is in the same price range.
It did not improve my puffy eyes and dark circles. Not enough moisturizing, but ok cooling effect. Not bad smell but who wants perfume in their eye cream???!!!??? They advertize "natural products" but would add chemical based, irritating, fragrance!

I received a sample of this eye gel and I loved it, had to buy more! It really helps reduce circles and puffiness, and soothes the skin around my eyes. It also does not contain toxic chemicals like so many products do. A tiny bit goes a long way. Just make sure when you pump it out, you push the pump slowly and only halfway, or else you will get enough to cover your whole body!

I'm a big fan of all the Yes To products I've tried but, this stuff really seems to help out with the bags under my eyes. I've also noticed that my upper lids don't seem as loose and the little fine lines I've been developing aren't as noticeable.
