I had the same mirror for about 20yrs and can't live without it. It is the perfect magnification with my eyesight and maybe be too much for others,I dropped mine and busted it but have repaired it with duct tape and jungle glue. As it was so old I did not figure I could find another, but thanks to Drugstore.com there it was. I recommend it to anyone one, if you are not sure about 7X power, go to the store and see what that is like before buying it. I have a small 10x mirror suctioned to it so I have two powers in one.

I found the magnification way too much for putting on makeup or tweezing eyebrows. It was difficult to see clearly in this mirror. I had to return it and make another choice, To it's credit, though, it is very well made and the flexible stand is very nice.

I had a mirror similar to this that I got from my mother, and when it broke, I was frantic. The 5X doesn't magnify enough for my eyesight, and the 10X is way too much, with lots of distortion. This 7X is perfect for applying eye makeup and plucking eyebrows. Plus it was a really good price compared to all the other similar mirrors I looked at online.
