Indications
Treats frequent heartburn (occurs 2 or more days a week)
Not intended for immediate relief of heartburn. This drug may take 1 to 4 days for full effect.
Warnings
Allergy alert: Do not use if you are allergic to omeprazole
Do not use if you have:
trouble or pain swallowing food
vomiting with blood
bloody or black stools
These may be signs of a serious condition. See your doctor.
Ask a doctor before use if you have
had heartburn over 3 months. This may be a sign of a more serious condition.
heartburn with lightheadedness, sweating or dizziness
chest pain or shoulder pain with shortness of breath, sweating, pain spreading to arms, neck or shoulders, or lightheadedness
frequent chest pain
frequent wheezing, particularly with heartburn
unexplained weight loss
nausea or vomiting
stomach pain
a sodium-restricted diet
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking
warfarin (blood-thinning medicine)
prescription antifungal or anti-yeast medicines
diazepam (anxiety medicine)
digoxin (heart medicine)
tacrolimus (immune system medicine)
prescription antiretrovirals (medicines for HIV infection)
any other prescription drugs. Sodium bicarbonate may interact with certain prescription drugs
Stop use and ask a doctor if
your heartburn continues or worsens
you need to take this product for more than 14 days
you need to take more than 1 course of treatment every 4 months
If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Tamper-evident: do not use if the blue band around the capsule is missing or broken. Do not use if foil inner seal imprinted with "Sealed for your protection" is missing, open or broken.

This is the best medication! I have had acid reflux for years and Zegerid works really well. I have used the other omeprazole and it burned going down, this DOES NOT BURN!! It is heaven!! I take 40mg once a day and have zero problems....love this!

I've suffered from Acid Reflux for years as a result of a hiatal hernia. I have tried every medication on the market (prescription & OTC), including Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium, etc. for my acid reflux and can honestly say it is the best of all the ones I've tried in the past. I take one 20 mg tablet per day and my acid reflux is completely controlled. I no longer have heartburn and considering that I drink red wine every day, it says alot about how good Zegerid OTC really is! I highly recommend it for anyone that suffers from Acid Reflux.

I've used many prescriptions for my acid reflux that didn't work as well as Zegrid. I'm sticking with Zegrid from now on. And the fact that I don't need a RX from my doctor means less doctor visits and more money in my pocket:-)

I have had Gerd and a hiatle hernia for many years. I have tried just about everything on the market. This is the first heartburn medication that I do not have to supplement a pepcid ac later in the day. Only once in a while do I need something extra. This is a HUGE improvement.

Zegerid was prescribed to me by my Gastro for GERD. It is the only product that has consistantly worked. Unfortunately, now that it is available over the counter, it is costlier for me because I need to double up to 40 mg. The good news is that it is now readily available to other heartburn/reflux sufferers.
