This is a great mask for exfoliating. I use it over the Zia Ultimate Exfoliant for a boost. Just logged in to re-order it, but the real retail is nearly half this listing, so I have no clue why drugstore.com is charging this. Won't be on my order here, but it is a fabulous product. Look for it elsewhere.

I love Zia products & drugstore.com usually has competitive prices on them. Not always the least expensive but competitive & w/ one stop shopping conveniences. HOWEVER, pricing on the papaya mask must be a mistake. You can purchase for half the price through Zia directly or almost any other major retailer.

I love this product, and many hollywood stars use it. I am loyal to the papaya mask and the pumkin mask. The papaya mask: -evens out skin tone wihtin the first week-minmizes pores immidiately-and my face looks so glowyIt is pricey but alittle goes a long way, I started buyin them on [...] because they are sooo much cheaper though.

I started by reading all reviews before I decided to order. Some reviwers complained their acne started to flare up.
As I have used other products with bees wax I know it is VERY important to remove residues of it. So with this wonderful Papaya mask I do several gentle yet THOROUGH wiping off residue with a 100% cotton white washcloth AFTER I first rinse the mask off.
Then I follow up with a toner on a small ORGANIC cotton ball (I cut the balls in 1/2 or 1/4 to not waste toner).
I used to love clay masques as they detoxify. As I started to live in high dry Rocky Mountains clay is too dehydrating. This mask reminds me of the clay masks yet it is much more gentle, hydrating, and it definitely seems to brighten my complexion. I like to use it while sitting in a bath, and splash a bit of water on to keep moist/active.
Gentle for daily use, but usually 2-3 x weekly, when very busy. Very important to make sure skin is wet, and this way a little goes a VERY long way.

I used to be a huge fan of this product. It seemed to melt away dead skin cells and leave my skin fresh and ready for makeup. Apparently, they went and changed the formula, because now I would liken this product to spreading butter on your face. When I use it, if feels oppressive and greasy. I actually have to wash my face with cleanser after using it. If I wanted to work that hard and save money to boot, I'd just use a stick of butter.

Also, I bought my last one from drugstore.com because they show a picture of the old tube. I thought I had finally found a source for the old formula! Nope, what I received was the new jar, even though the site showed the old product.

Disappointing.

I had purchased ZIA'S papaya enzyme peel since 1992- but hadn't purchased it in a few years...then I just recieved some from my mom as a gift, and tried it again (I was THRILLED with the results prior)- and I actually broke out with several cystic pimples....
I called Zia to see if they had reformulated it and YES, they HAVE...
to get rid of the PARABENs, they've changed the formulation...and ADDED beeswax....cosmetic-grade beeswax should not clog pores, or cause any skin irritation...but I think my skin reacted to it. so I now wash my face with my regular cleanser after using this product...to remove the emollient layer of beeswax. Seems to do the trick, so far.

I use this mask for deep moisterizing treatment on a weekly basis. I can leave it on for an hour for maximum results. It feels great and smells nice too. I think it helps reduce fine lines.
