At the first tingle of a cold sore, I dot my lip with Zilactin. It is a gel that dries and I find that sometimes the cold sore doesn't develop because of this product. When it does develop, Zilactin reduces the time it takes to heal. Don't know why I can't buy it in a drugstore in CA, but I'm thankful to see that Drugstore.com carries it and delivers quickly.

I was glad to see that this could be purchased online. I have looked all over and could not find this product in the drug stores locally. I have been using this product for 10 years or longer and it works better than any of the brands available. I have tried abreva and herpicin to name a few.

This product is great for cold sores or fever blisters. If you use the product when you first feel that tingling feeling, it will prevent the sores from popping out. I always have this product on hand to prevent any sores from showing its ugly face.

The previous item I used was called Zilactin-L. But I'm out and found this product. If you will put this on your lip at the very moment you feel that slight tingle, it will keep the blister from forming. It has worked for me everytime. I've been bother with fever blister since a child, and had to just deal with it until they went away. Even tried the measle shot which I was told would keep them from coming, but it didn't work. This product does, and I don't have to take a shot which I hate to begin with.

I'm so disappointed I was hoping I would be able to write a positive review. I can't share the same great experiences most of you had using Zilactin. I've been suffering from cold sores since childhood, and everything I tried did very little to help the cold sores heal. I was just getting over my last cold sore when I found Zilactin and after reading several reviews on different websites, in which people raved about how effective this product is, I was blown away, finally, this could be it I thought. Especially all the dentist recommendations! So I woke up with a cold sore yesterday morning, without tingling or any sort of warning it was already there but still really tiny with no bubble, so I applied Zilactin immidiately. I took l-lysene as well, and applied Zilactin several times throughout the day. Instead of nipping it in the bud, it made it worse and by the time I went to bed I had a huge cold sore on my lip. It hasn't gotten any better overnight, I ended up popping the blisters with a pin and applied Zilactin again. If it didn't help keeping the blister from forming it might dry it off fast. I will give this product another chance when I feel a tingling, before the sore starts to appear.

I have been dealing with fever blisters since I was about 5 years old. I remember being taken to doctors/dermatologists and being given everything under the sun. Most products would work once, maybe twice. Then it was like my lips not only built up immunity to the products, but those other products would spread the sores making more in other spots on my lips. I think it has something to do with the oily nature of most others. Then Zilactin came into my life when I was in high school and my life changed. I was able to put some on immediately upon the sensation of getting a fever blister. It seals it and pushes the sore back down with no oily mess to spread around. When you shower or wash face it simply flakes off like a piece of dead skin with no pain or mess. I don't get the sores as frequently as I did when I was younger, so I found myself without Zilactin eventually and could not find it at any store for years. I was beginning to wonder if I remembered the name wrong. Then I searched online a few weeks ago and found it here. I immediately bought 4 tubes. Just yesterday morning I woke up with the onset of a fever blister. Put some on in the morning and before bed. The blister never fully appeared. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

its just as good as a prescriotion for fever blisters. Apply as soon as you feel the tingle, not when the blister starts
