I can not use honey wax on my upper lip, it rips my skin off. This is the only wax I can use, and it is not messy like honey wax..easy to use. It's hard to find and only this company sells it. I like that I can use in my own home when ever I want. I still have use a tweezer after, but it pretty much does the job. Just put a cube in a warmer within 5 mins it's ready to use. I've tried every brand....including honey wax again for sensitive skin...it's doesn't work...still rips my skin.

I have been using this product for 30 years on my face and bikini area. I generally get 5-7 uses out of one box and purchase several at a time so I don't have to buy it very often.

Just opened a brand new box this morning and noticed it wouldn't melt smoothly. Normally a whole box melts in 4 minutes in the microwave. 10 minutes later and I stirred it and noticed it looked like someone added baby powder to it.

As other reviewers noticed very grainy. It was horrible to apply and worse to remove. I couldn't grab it and pull like normal. Instead, I had to scrape it off!

I looked at the ingredients and noticed they added calcium carbonate to it. That's like adding a smashed up Tums antacid! Oddly, another box had calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate added. Horrible. I can't believe they ruined such a solid product. How could they think people wouldn't notice and don't they test the product before releasing it?

Comments about Zip Wax Hot Wax Hair Remover, 7 oz:

I have used Zip for many years. I wished they still provided the small pan to warm it up in! The small boxes now use a plastic applicator instead of wooden & they melt so I was happy to see this large box had a wooden one in it! Waxing yourself is NOT fun but it saves you money, time & you can do it in privacy!

Original Formula Still Not Back

Comments about Zip Wax Hot Wax Hair Remover, 7 oz:

I've been using zip wax for at least 20 years. The last new batch I bought was grainy and would not melt all the way. What used to be a 30 minute procedure took (literally) all day. I gave up after I ran out of time, not because I eventually got rid of the hair.

I looked online to see if anyone else had this problem and found that the formula had changed. Drugstore.com had an entry that said they had the original formula, so I quickly order some. Unfortunately, the one I received is not the original. It's the yucky, grainy stuff that is GOING RIGHT BACK!!!

I like this product better than the microwave products. But it is harder to find. No stores carry it anymore. You do have to be careful not to heat it too hot.

Comments about Zip Wax Hot Wax Hair Remover, 7 oz:

The manufacturer had some sort of issue with the wax formula which they have now corrected. Drugstore.com will be getting the original formula wax within the next couple of weeks. The box will have the wording "original formula" on it so you can see that you have the right product. After I contacted the manufacturer, they shipped me some of the newly labeled "original formula" wax and it is back to the way it was before!! So thought I'd pass this info on.

For the record, both Drugstore.com and Lee Pharmaceuticals have been prompt and courteous in their responses and handling of the situation.

Comments about Zip Wax Hot Wax Hair Remover, 7 oz:

Like everyone else, I have been using this product for 20+ years and ordering it from drugstore.com for 10 years. After the same results (grainy, useless), I contacted the manufacturer, and their response is below. Hopefully the "good wax" is what we're all used to, though I'm not sure where to buy it.
            ***********************************************

Lee Pharmaceuticals did have some problems with the Zip Wax but we have resolved the problem. We have made slight changes to the carton of the 7oz so that consumers can see when they first receive their order if it's the "good wax". On the 7oz carton under the Z in zip you will see "original formula" in small black writing. And on the 3oz you will see a small white sticker with original formula on it.

If you purchase Zip Wax in the future and you do not see "original formula" please return any orders immediately according to their returns policy.

I used ZIP Wax for over 30 years. My mom used it too. Only wax that really pulled out course face hair. In 2013 I ordered several boxes and the new formula makes the wax worthless. Does not adhere to the face, with or without strips. So disappointed and upset; I had to throw it ALL away. I have switched to Completely Bare Ouchless.

I bought this product based on all the wonderful reviews- my first and last time I'll be using zip wax. I've used homemade wax for years so am not a beginner. This wax is so difficult to pull off. Even the application isn't even. Not at all impressed. I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased two packages and found that the formulation of this product has changed. It is no longer the resin I've used for years; now it is brittle and crumbles off and does not remove hair at all. I've used Zip Wax for more than 20 years and had found it the only product that removes wiry hair. I'm saddened that it no longer works. Why the manufacturer messed with success I don't know, but it's not worth having anymore.
