My allergies were in the 1 to 2+ range so they weren't considered severe but they made me miserable with itchy rashes, watery/itchy eyes & ears, etc. It gave me relief!!! Then our insurance stopped approving it when Claritin came out over the counter which they said was Zyrtec's equivalent. Well, it isn't!! I was miserable for a couple of years trying to treat my allergy symptoms (nothing worked) when I asked my doctor [...] to try to arbitrate with the insurance to get me approved again since nothing was working at alleviating my symptoms. They did approve it and I was so glad and symptom free again. Then 3 months later, Zyrtec came out over the counter and I am so glad because now I can get it easily and can find deals on it. There is also a generic out now which I want to try to see if it works as well. I never had noticed drowsiness when I took it during the day but I know everyone is different but you can always take it at night. But I've been fighting a cold so my immune system is in overdrive, and my Allegra prescription had run out awhile ago. (Allegra is the only antihistamine that hasn't knocked me out.) I was desperate so I went to the pharmacy and bought a five pill package of Zyrtec. I took it at 1:30pm. It's now 7:40pm, and my allergy symptoms are worse than before. I'm in hell right now. Zyrtec soooo does not work for me. I just took a Children's Benadryl Chewable because I'm so desperate and we have nothing else in the house. I think it's already kicking in. I needed something that would give me relief quickly. This was not it. About an hr after I took it I got so drowsy I wanted to take a nap. I had a hard time thinking clearly and keeping my train of thought going. Now I don't know if this was suppose to happen but I will not be taking this product again during the day, and I save the rest of what I have for when I go to bed. Pros

I gave Zyrtec a try for a year... because it worked the best on its own and I was overseas but... I was SO SLEEPY... I wasn't sure that it was the Zyrtec until I finally stopped taking it and tried a combination of other things. It was easier on Zyrtec..one pill a day...but the drowsiness was too much for me! I recommend if nothing else is working for you but be aware that you may become quite drowsy. I was able to drive, but I had a general sleepiness all day regardless if I took in the morning or evening. Pros

I take it in the evening before bed and sleep WONDERFULLY. The flip side of that is I do have a tough time waking up and getting moving in the morning. Like Here like everyday i get up in morning i take the pill about 8-9 am when i first up since my allergies act up really bad and the worst thing i hate when it takes awhile to Kick in the Zyrtec medicine its takes awhile plus after you do that for awhile like you have running nouse then you sneeze few times maybe 4-6 times in a row maybe more then its in your body then you can smell about after awhile until afternoon close to the Sunset to dark then after that your allergies act ups things i hate believe that Zyrtec has No Relieves at all to Allergies During Night time because like if i go to bed after i do all my chores i do get in showers sometimes help just least 2-3% to get rid of the pollen but you get all stuff up even if your in the shower after your done or not its like after few minutes during that night maybe less then 5 minutes your stuff nose up,runny noses and you have go in the bathroom and get toilet paper and then after doing that for awhile you sneeze again once already had taken the pill in the morning its like nothing at Night Time to me i think Zyrtec only works for me least 11 hrs-12 hrs not 24 hr for me since i am allergic to Pollen (like air,weeds,grass) i probably give you a 2.9 Pros
